40 crocodiles kill a man who entered reptile farm in Cambodia
text_fieldsPhnom Penh: A 72-year-old man in Cambodia had a tragic end after he was attacked by about 40 crocodiles in an enclosure.
One of the crocodile grabbed the goad he was using to move the animal out of the cage with its eggs, when he was pulled in, according news agency AFP.
The incident took place at his family’s reptile farm in Siem Reap where the man, whose identity is not known, entered probably to remove eggs.
With one animal pulled him in, other crocodiles pounced upon him before tearing him to pieces.
The concrete enclosure at the farm was reportedly a scene of blood.
The officer added that other crocodiles attacked him until he was dead, leaving his lifeless body covered with bite marks.
Crocodiles bit off one of his arms and swallowed, according to the officer.
In another incident, a two-year-old girl was killed and eaten by crocodiles in the same village in 2019 when she wandered into her family’s reptile farm.
The area, which is close to the tourist destination Angkor Wat, has a number of crocodile farms.
The reptiles are raised in enclosures for their eggs, skins and meat alongside trading in their young, according to the report.
