Blast kills three Turkish soldiers on the Syrian border

According to the Defence Ministry in Ankara, three Turkish soldiers were killed when a bomb exploded near the country's border with Syria.
In a statement, the Ministry said that terrorists planted bombs on the edge of Akcakale district.
As a military vehicle passed through the town of Tal Abyad in Syria's northern border region, an explosion occurred.
To eliminate the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) along its border with the neighboring countries, the Turkish military launched Operation Euphrates Shield in 2016 and Operation Olive Branch in 2018.
A Turkish official revealed on Friday that eight YPG members were killed in northern Syria when YPG fighters tried to attack Turkish forces at the Operation Peace Spring zone. The YPG is viewed as the Syrian branch of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
There is a frequent exchange of fire between Turkish forces and the YPG along the Syrian border. The PKK has been rebelling against Turkey's government for more than three decades, claiming more than 40,00 lives.
