2 killed, 4 wounded in a shooting at a Chicago club
text_fieldsChicago: As the spate of gun violence continues in the US, two more people killed in a shooting at a night club in Indiana on Sunday.
The shooting was reported around 2 am in Gary Southeast of Chicago in at Playo's NightClub where the police found two dead, according to news agency AP.
Police found a 34-year-old its entrance and a 26-year-old woman inside
A local hospital declared them dead after they were brought in from the club.
Four others were also critically injured in the shooting, police said. The report said that the police had not given the names of the dead.
Twelve days into the month of June, only one day is marked without shooting in the US, according to Gun Violence Archive.
Each passing day in June has at least one report of shooting except on 6 June.
The last few weeks saw a spate of gun violence beginning with mass shooting in in Buffalo, New York, Uvalde, Texas and the list continues.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 28 mass shootings so far in June across 15 states including Louisiana, Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Maryland, Arizona, Virginia, South Carolina, Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
Increased gun activity in the US brought to fore seething public anger with thousands taking to streets the other day, demanding stricter gun control.
Marchers carried slogan that said " I want freedom from getting shot", BBC reported.
Backing the protests US President called up on Congress to introduce a gun safety legislation.
BBC reported that any move for gun control is likely to be blocked by Republicans.
