11 killed in arson attack in Mexico bar, accused arrested
text_fieldsMexico City: A man has been arrested for setting fire to a bar in San Luis Rio Colorado city in Mexico's Sonora state, killing at least 11 people and injuring six others.
The accused, who was removed from the bar for disrespecting women, returned and threw a lit object into the bar.
According to Sonora state prosecutors, the man was highly intoxicated at the time of the attack in the early hours of Saturday.
The fire killed seven men and four women, according to a statement from the Sonora state Attorney General's Office.
The statement described the object thrown in as "a kind of 'Molotov' cocktail".
Santos Gonzalez, the mayor of the city, called the attack a "tragedy" and said that the suspect, a man, had been arrested by police.
