New Delhi: Telegram CEO Pavel Durov offers to provide free IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) for women who choose to use his sperm, India Today reported.

Pavel Durov, teamed up with top fertility clinic Altravita, will donate sperm and cover the full cost of the IVF process.

Altravita, which as the exclusive right to store and use his biomaterial, calls Durov’s move a rare and generous offer.

Altravita offers quality care from best specialists using latest technology to enhance success rates.

Women contacting Altravita for an initial consultation will have a doctor explaining to them about the IVF procedure, before initial tests.

Applicants should meet eligibility criteria including being under age 37 alongside being in good health.

After the approval, the IVF procedure will begin with a dedicated team monitoring every step.

Durov previously talked about how he ended up donating his sperm before beginning this initiative.

Describing the background on Telegram channel, he said he has over 100 biological kids, nevertheless being somebody who has never married and prefers to live alone.

He explained that it all began some 15 years before when a friend approached him with request for a sperm donation which made him laugh, before realizing he was ‘dead serious’.

He agreed for the donation, opening the door to a much larger impact.

Durov continued to donate after the clinic’s director explained to him about the shortage of ‘high quality donor material’, ending up helping over a hundred families across 12 countries.

‘The shortage of healthy sperm has become an increasingly serious issue worldwide, and I’m proud that I did my part to help alleviate it,’ Durov was quoted as saying.

Hoping to inspire more healthy men to do donations, he urged to ‘Defy convention—redefine the norm!’
