Social media platform Koo integrates ChatGPT to help users
text_fieldsBengaluru: Indian social media app Koo has joined the AI race and integrated ChatGPT to help users to create posts more easily. The platform was launched as a rival to the popular microblogging platform Twitter.
OpenAI's chatbot has been trending since its launch and several companies are trying to either launch their own AI bots or use ChatGPT to their advantage.
Mayank Bidawatka, the co-founder of Koo, told Reuters that Koo users will now be able to use ChatGPT directly within the app to help draft posts about current events, politics, or pop culture. "This will help creators get inspiration on what to create. They could ask (ChatGPT) for the trending news in their region and then write their thoughts." He added that Koo will be the first platform to integrate the technology into the ability to compose posts. Users can either type their prompts into the ChatGPT tool or use Koo's voice command feature.
The platform is also considering adding labels to indicate whether a post was created with the assistance of ChatGPT. "I think people should know if the content is AI-generated," said the co-founder.
Only 20% of Koo users are active content creators. The management hopes to boost that figure with the help of ChatGPT. The feature will be first available to verified accounts and then later go to all users.
In a demo, the new feature drafted a post using a quote from scientist Albert Einstein and three related hashtags.
