Massive layoffs underway at Amazon, Indians among impacted

New Delhi: A silent wave of layoffs more shocking than Elon Musk's snap firing is underway at Amazon, according to a report.
At least 10,000 jobs have been cut by the company globally this week impacting many Indian as well, reported India Today.
While Twitter chief never hesitate at firing employees on a whim publically, Amazon has not yet revealed about layoffs happening across departments including Alexa and could gaming.
Though no details as yet have come out about the number of employees received pink slip, a large chunk of them could be Indians.
The report has inputs as evidence of layoffs in posts made on Linkedin by employees who have lost jobs and are desperate to find new jobs.

Amazon reportedly is taking different approach to Twitter and Meta when it comes to job cuts.
The company has not revealed yet about the reasons behind laying off the large number of employees as being reported.
A large number of those impacted included Indians holding HIB visa which allows foreign national to work in the US.
As per HIB visa an employee losing job will get 60 days period to look for another job or return to home country.
The layoffs at Twitter, Meta and Amazon meant these HIB visa holders have to find new jobs and are reportedly in anguish after having to search for jobs in a short notice, to stay back in the US.
Raj Kansagra, who is reportedly one of those impacted by Amazon firing, said on social media that he had discovered of losing job like many others at Amazon.
Kansagra added that he had seen Alexa grow from early days while building it with others.
Shivani Parate, another employee claims to have been laid off, described on social media the situation losing job along with 10,000 others at Amazons.
While Meta offered immigration support to foreign workers who lost jobs, neither Twitter nor Amazon has so far come out with immigration support.
