Although she looks to be a young fashionista, she is actually India's first virtual influencer on Instagram. Kyra is commonly known as a "Meta Influencer" and her bio reads '22-year old from Delhi, who loves travel and modelling.'
There has been a surge of virtual influencers around the world making unusual resemblance to humans difficult for people to discern. The avatar, created by TopSocial India, is considered to be the "virtual, meta-influencer" of the country.
When introducing the avatar in January, the business head at TopSocial India, Himanshu Goel told AD Gully, "We want Kyra to go beyond just being a simple CGI character or influencer. She is an independent Meta-Influencer on the web. We are working with partners in AI technology which will enable her to study social media trends online and create content autonomously. We believe that is where the future of virtual influencers and content lies".
Now, netizens are fascinated by her reels of her chilling in a pool or the scenes from the beach or photoshoot in front of the Hawa Mahal in Jaipur. While some may believe that the quality of Kyra's computer-generated image (CGI) needs to be improved, her posts have been gathering a lot of engagement. Her posts are similar to those of any influencer, doing photoshoots in picturesque views and heritage sites.
Kyra draws inspiration from the world's first virtual influencers Lil Mikelle with over 3 million followers and Rosie from South Korea with over 100 sponsorship deals, according to the Indian Express.
As part of the global community of virtual influencers, Kyra even attended a Metaverse fashion week in March which brought together major global fashion brands such as Estée Lauder, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dolce & Gabbana.
"When we launched Kyra, (India's first Virtual Influencer) fashion was one of the first categories we focused on. We can't wait to see how Indian fashion brands will participate in the Metaverse space," wrote Goel in a LinkedIn post sharing images of her from the fashion week.
"In just less than 3 months she has gained a loyal following of 50,000+ with an engagement rate of more than 10%. We are really grateful for the support we have received from all her fans," Goel wrote earlier on LinkedIn, amazed by Kyra's growing popularity.
