Gurugram: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. on Thursday announced that its Galaxy AI platform now supports 22 languages, with the addition of Gujarati and Filipino, furthering its mission to make artificial intelligence more inclusive and accessible across the globe.

The new language update, which began rolling out on October 29, allows users to download the latest language packs directly from the Settings app on their Galaxy devices.

With this expansion, Galaxy AI brings its intelligent communication and productivity tools to a wider audience. Key features such as Live Translate enable real-time, two-way voice and text translation during phone calls, making cross-border conversations smoother. The Interpreter feature provides instant, on-screen translations during face-to-face interactions — ideal for use while travelling, dining out, or seeking directions.

Other popular tools like Chat Assist, Note Assist, Transcript Assist, and Browsing Assist further enhance communication, helping users write, summarise, translate, and stay organised with ease. Designed to adapt to regional languages and communication styles, these features make AI interactions feel natural and intuitive.

The new Gujarati and Filipino support was developed in collaboration with Samsung Research centers in India and Indonesia, underscoring the company’s focus on building localized AI models that capture cultural and linguistic nuances.

“The addition of Gujarati to Galaxy AI marks a significant milestone in our mission to democratise AI in India, a country renowned for its linguistic diversity,” said Giridhar Jakki, Senior Director and Head of the Language AI Team at Samsung R&D Institute India, Bengaluru. “By including Gujarati, we are empowering native speakers to use advanced features like Call Assist and Interpreter seamlessly, powered by our on-device AI technology.”

Since its launch, Galaxy AI has become an integral part of users’ daily lives. According to Samsung, over 70 per cent of Galaxy S25 users worldwide regularly use Galaxy AI and Google Gemini features, with nearly half relying on AI tools daily. In India, engagement is even stronger, with 91 per cent of Galaxy S25 users actively using Galaxy AI.
