Elon Musk claims quite significant threat on his life: report

Elon Musk on Saturday said he is facing "quite significant" risk of assassination.

Twitter owner told the listeners of a Q&A audio chat that he would not be doing any open-air car parades, as part of ensuring safety.

"Frankly the risk of something bad happening to me, or even literally being shot, is quite significant," he reportedly said.

Musk, who has laid off hordes of workers at Twitter after taking over the social media platform, said that it is not hard to kill somebody.

He added that "fate smiles upon the situation with me and it does not happen".

He expanded on the importance of free speech and his future plan for Twitter, expressing hope for a future where "We're not oppressed… and we can say what we want to say without fear of reprisals".

While arguing for freedom of expression, he added that one should be allowed to say whatever wanted as long as they are causing no harm to anybody.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO said that free speech has been "highly unusual, not common' throughout history, and added that it is a rare thing that it by no means is default.

The audio chat came a day after journalist Matt Taibbi published internal communications at Twitter that showed how it censored and suspended those commented on a story by New York Post on Hunter Biden.

Musk alleged Twitter "was acting like an arm" of the Democratic National Committee during the 2020 presidential elections.
