New York: As ChatGPT is becoming more popular, many are concerned about the scenario of massive job loss in near future.

But experts including Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Microsoft chief Satya Nadella said that new technology will bring newer roles, meaning AI will offer greater job roles.

Now Nobel prize-winning economist economist Christopher Pissarides who is a professor at the London School of Economics also believes that AI could increase productivity and even lead to a four-day week.

Pissarides, who specializes in the impact of automation on work, told a conference that labour market could adapt quickly to artificial intelligence-backed chatbots.

Professor Pissarides was speaking at a conference in Glasgow when he made these observations, according to Bloomberg.

‘We could increase our well-being generally from work, and we could take off more leisure. We could move to a four-day week easily,’ the professor reportedly said.

Addressing the security concerns that AI could raise, the economist said technology could take a ‘malevolent turn’, but he was optimistic about technology.
