BEINGOOD, An App from Lakshdweep to seek help and extend help launched

An App from Lakshdweep namely BEINGOOD has launched which will help people in need to seek help and extend help. Shahul Hameed, a teacher by profession, hailing from Minicoy island of Lakshadweep developed this unique application for humanitarian purpose. The application will help people in times of hunger, natural disasters or even in cases of vehicle breakdown

Hameed has spent almost Rs 7.5 lakh for the app and it took a year's effort to become his venture a success. Reacting to Madhyamam , Hameed said that he developed this app by exchanging his ideas in mind with other developers and they made it taking almost an year.

Based on innovative possibilities such as map, notification and real-time chat, BEINGOOD allows users to receive or provide help. It quickly coordinates between anyone willing to offer help to frontline workers or volunteers through providing food, clothing or educational needs during pandemic or disaster management efforts.

Users can easily access it with the 'Get help' option in case of emergencies.

As soon as a help request is sent, BEINGOOD notifies another app users in diameters upto 50 km and can choose the Give Help option in the app's home screen to send aid. Depending on the severity of requests for help will be categorized on the map in red and yellow and the available aids in green.

Furthermore, honorary points and virtual badges will be presented on users' profile pages upon completion of tasks and the free app has been made available both in App store (IOS) and Play store (Android).

Shahul Hameed who is an alumni of Farooq College, Calicut, is now working as a teacher at Senior Basic School, Minocoy Islamd. He is also recognized as a resource person by Union Ministry of Education.
