Sony Pictures Networks India has acquired exclusive broadcast rights for the 2026 Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4.

Under the agreement, the event will be aired across Sony Sports Network television channels, while live streaming will be available on the SonyLIV app and website across India and the subcontinent.

The Asian Games will feature 41 disciplines, including 32 Olympic sports, with new additions such as mixed martial arts and surfing. Traditional events, including cricket, tennis, kabaddi, sepak takraw, and kurash, will also be part of the programme.

India enters the Games after a record performance in the previous edition, where it won 107 medals, crossing the 100-mark for the first time.

“We are proud to bring this continental multi-sport event back to Sony Pictures Networks for the third time,” said Rajesh Kaul, chief revenue officer and business head for sports and international at the network.

Cricket is expected to draw strong interest among Indian audiences, with both men’s and women’s teams set to compete.

The event will see participation from all 45 National Olympic Committees under the Olympic Council of Asia.
