North East United ( NEUFC ) defeated Odisha FC 3-1 at Thilak Miadan Stadium in Vasco. This victory helped NEUFC to move third on the table with 26 points.

In the 9th minute of the game, Ashutosh Mehta created the chance with clinical cross and Machado finished it without giving goalkeeper Arshdeep Singh. NEUFC doubled their lead after 10 minutes when Federico Gallenga crafted a goal through Brown. A few minutes later the Machado sealed the faith scoring a goal from well crafted looping ball being passed by Gallenga. Bradden Inman scored the only goal for Odisha in stoppage time of the first half. Machado and Gallenga were denied a goal in this second half with the brilliant save by Odhisha FC goalkeeper Arshdeep. Brown missed a golden opportunity by hitting shot straight to Arshdeep from one - to - one position.

Odisha Fc players pressurised NEUFC throughout the game. Odisha FC was not able to breach the strong defence of Highlander's at any point of the match. NEUFC defence deserves a great appreciation for this victory. Gurjinder Kumar was sent off for the second yellow. The numerical disadvantage of NEUFC was overpowered by strong defence and the ferocious style of the game they adopted from the beginning of the match. NEUFC sealed the fate of game with three goals in the first half of the match itself.
