London: Bottles of Heineken liquor will not be displayed before players of the Muslim community, during press conferences, v officials informed.

According to international media, the decision must have been taken after ace French footballer Paul Pogba removed liquor bottles before him while he was attending a press conference post a match against Germany. Pogba shifted bottles of Coca Cola and liquor before him and faced the media. Also, he never acted in liquor brands' ads. According to him, it is against his faith.

There are Muslim players in the teams of France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland etc. There were no liquor bottles placed before Karim Benzema when he appeared for a press meet after his match against Portugal.

In a somewhat similar incident, Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo had chosen normal water to Coca Cola during a press conference where he expressed his disapproval of the soft drink.

The Dutch liquor manufacturer Heineken as well as Coca Cola are two of the major sponsors of Euro 2020.
