Mbappe doesn't know enough about football, says Argentine goal keeper Emiliano Martinez
text_fieldsDoha: After Kylian Mbappe, the French forward taking a dig at Argentina football team, by saying that Football in South America is less advanced than in Europe, Emiliano Martinez, the Argentine goalkeeper slammed him of "not knowing enough" about the game.
"He doesn't know enough about football. He never played in South America. When you don't have this experience, it may be better not to talk about it. But it doesn't matter. We are a great team, recognised as such," Martinez said in a press conference.
Previously, Mbappe said that South American teams such as Brazil and Argentina doesn't get to play as the European teams do on a regular basis.
"The advantage we have in Europe is that we play among ourselves with high-level matches all the time, such as the Nations League for example. When we arrive at the World Cup, we are ready, where Brazil and Argentina do not have this level in South America. Football is not as advanced as in Europe. That's why at the last World Cups, it's always the Europeans who win," said Mbappe.
In a previous incident, Mbappe got slammed by Brazil's then coach Tite, for similar remarks against Latin American teams.
Argentina superstar and France's Kilian Mbappe are club mates as both of them are strikers of the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) club.
Fans across the Globe are cheering for both the teams as they take on each other at Lusail stadium, Qatar in the final match of the 2022 World Cup.
