Cologne/Germany: Spain successfully fired four times into Georgia's goal in the pre-quarter match between the two on Sunday to win 4-1 and enter the quarters of Euro 2024. Spain responded with goals from Rodri, Fabián Ruiz, Neco Williams and Dani Olmo to lead slam Georgia, though Spain conceded a self-goal in the 18th minute. At no point could Georgia compete with Spain, who attacked the opposing goal from the start.

Spain constantly penetrated into the opposing box through a beautiful passing game but was stopped by the opposing goalkeeper and defensive players in the first half. In the 18th minute, against the course of the game, the ball unexpectedly reached the Spanish net, becoming a self-goal. During a Georgian counter-attack, Kakabadze's cross was blocked by Robin Le Normand, and the ball went into his own net. However, Georgia's celebration was short-lived.

Six minutes before the end of the first half, Rodri headed Nico Williams' pass into the Georgian net. As Spain continued to dominate in the second half, the Georgian goalkeeper and defence were restless. The free kick taken by Lamine Yamal was blocked by the goalkeeper with effort. However, within minutes, Fabián Ruiz put Spain ahead with the teenager's super cross. Meanwhile, Yamal missed two golden opportunities. Another time, when his kick hit the opponent's leg, and the ball went into the Georgian net, the offside flag was raised.

However, in the 75th minute, Spain made it three goals. Nico Williams took the long pass from Fabián Ruiz and advanced alone without giving any chance to the opposing goalkeeper and hit the ball against the post. Shortly after, Dani Olmo missed a golden opportunity to extend the lead, and Lamin Yamal's effort was blocked by the goalkeeper. Spain scored their fourth goal with seven minutes left in regular time.

This time, Dani Olmo scored with an assist from Mikel Oyarzabal. Spain continued to attack in the final minutes to increase the lead but was unable to find the target. Spain controlled 76 per cent of the ball and fired 35 shots, 13 of which were on target. The Georgian players managed to hit only four shots.

Spain's opponents in the quarter are hosts Germany.
