Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, is on the verge of becoming the first person to amass 1 billion followers across social media platforms.

The Portuguese superstar has been smashing records ever since he launched his YouTube channel, 'UR Cristiano.'

Ronaldo quickly became the fastest celebrity to surpass milestones such as 1 million, 10 million, and 20 million followers on the platform. As he nears the 50 million mark on YouTube, Ronaldo is now within reach of the unprecedented 1 billion followers across all social media platforms.

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker boasts an enormous following on various platforms, including Twitter (112.7 million), Facebook (170 million), and Instagram (637 million). Currently, Ronaldo's total social media following stands at an astounding 964 million. With his YouTube channel already attracting 45 million followers, it's only a matter of time before the 39-year-old athlete breaches the 1 billion mark, a feat no other celebrity has achieved.

Ronaldo, already one of the wealthiest athletes globally, has further boosted his earnings through his social media presence, including his burgeoning YouTube channel. According to a report by Spanish publication Marca, Ronaldo earned approximately $100 million within the first 72 hours of launching his YouTube account.

Currently, YouTube pays around $6 per 1,000 views. Since launching his channel, Ronaldo has posted 20 videos (including shorts), which have garnered approximately 200 million views. Based on YouTube's metrics, this could translate to earnings between $1,200 and $6,000 per million views, adding yet another lucrative revenue stream to Ronaldo's already impressive portfolio.
