Yuvraj Singh returns to cricket, set to play for India Masters in International Masters League
text_fieldsCricket legend Yuvraj Singh is making a return to the field as he gears up to play for India Masters in the inaugural season of the International Masters League (IML).
The tournament, featuring several former cricketing greats, will take place from February 22 to March 16 this year.
A two-time World Cup champion, Yuvraj is celebrated for his game-changing performances, including his historic six sixes in an over against England’s Stuart Broad during the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup. He was also instrumental in India’s 2011 ODI World Cup victory, where he was named Player of the Tournament for his outstanding all-round contribution.
Sharing his excitement about playing alongside Sachin Tendulkar and other former teammates, Yuvraj said: "Stepping onto the field with Sachin and my teammates brings back so many memories. The IML is a tribute to the golden era of Indian cricket, and I can’t wait to create new unforgettable moments for the fans who have supported us over the years."
The tournament will also feature international cricket stars, including JP Duminy (South Africa Masters) and Upul Tharanga (Sri Lanka Masters).
Duminy expressed his enthusiasm for the league, saying: "Representing South Africa Masters in the IML is a huge honor. Fans can expect some thrilling cricket as the greats of the game take the field once again."
Similarly, Tharanga shared his excitement: "I look forward to playing for Sri Lanka Masters. The IML will be a unique event where old friends and rivals come together to relive classic cricketing battles."
