Virat Kohli has surpassed Suresh Raina to claim the record for the most catches by an Indian player in men's T20 cricket.

Kohli achieved this milestone during a match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS).

The stalwart batter claimed his 174th catch in the T20 format by taking catches of PBKS batters Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan during the game.

This accomplishment sees Kohli surpass former India cricketer Suresh Raina, who held the previous record with 172 catches to his name. Following Kohli, India's cricket captain Rohit Sharma ranks third with 167 catches. Meanwhile, Indian batters Manish Pandey and Suryakumar Yadav hold the fourth and fifth positions with 146 and 136 catches, respectively.

In the broader spectrum of international T20 cricket, former West Indies cricketer Kieron Pollard leads the charts with an impressive tally of 362 catches. Following Pollard, South African batter David Miller holds the second position with 290 catches, while former West Indies player Dwayne Bravo secures the third spot with 271 catches in the T20 format.

During the match, Punjab Kings, after being put to bat by RCB, saw their batters making decent starts. However, despite contributions from skipper Shikhar Dhawan, Jitesh Sharma, and Sam Curran, PBKS could only manage to post a moderate total of 176/6 in 20 overs.
