Adelaide: India moves to tabletop after defeating Bangladesh (BL) in a tight five-run win in their Super 12 match of T20I World Cup 2022. In the game, which was threatened by rain and BL's chase reduced by Duckworth Lewis, Litton Das gave India a challenge, but a desperate BL batting line faltered to finding runs.

For India, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli (64 not out) scored half-tons to pose a good total of 184/6 in 20 overs. During the chase, the target was modified to 151 in 16 overs due to rains. Das, who opened for BL, started with a blast smashing Indian bowling and scoring 60 from 27 balls. But batters fell like in a house of cards after that, though, in the 7th wicket, Nurul Hassan (25 off 14) made a good fight.

For India, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each, Mohammed Shami one, the fielders did a better worth this time, and KL Rahul made a dangerous Das run out. Rahul made a direct hit from a distance putting a stake in the BL fans' hearts.

During the chase, rain forced the game to stop when BL was 66/0 in seven overs under Das's fire. After the game resumed, wickets tumbled following Das's run out.

Earlier, Rahul seemed to compensate for his run drought. He hit four sixes and three boundaries to reach his fifty. Virat Kohli made a second wicket stance with him 67 off 37, hitting eight boundaries and a six. Suryakumar Yadav also contributed a 16-ball 30, stating his form.

Brief Scores: India 184/6 in 20 overs (Virat Kohli 64 not out, KL Rahul 50; Hasan Mahmud 3/47, Shakib Al Hasan 2/33) beat Bangladesh 145/6 in 16 overs (Litton Das 60, Nurul Hasan 25 not out; Hardik Pandya 2/28, Arshdeep Singh 2/38) by 5 runs (via DLS method)
