No mention of Siraj: Jay Shah's congratulatory post lands in controversy

Mumbai: The post written by International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah on social media congratulating the Indian team for its historic win at Edgbaston landed in controversy.
The controversy is over the omission of Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj's name. The names of Indian captain Shubman Gill, pacer Akash Deep, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant are specifically mentioned in the post. But, the name of Siraj, who took seven wickets in the second Test, including six wickets in the first innings, was left from it.
Siraj's bowling performance played a crucial role in putting the English on the defensive in the first innings of the Test, in which Shubman Gill and his team won a record 336-run victory.

Several people have posted critical notes below this. One fan criticized that Siraj's name was omitted because he is a Muslim.
This is India's first Test win at Edgbaston. With this, the visitors have drawn 1-1 in the five-match series. It is also India's first win since Gill took over as captain. The third Test begins at Lord's on July 10.
