In preparation for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Mumbai Indians have announced the addition of England left-arm fast bowler Luke Wood to their squad.

Wood will step in as a replacement for the injured Australian player Jason Behrendorff.

According to IPL sources, Luke Wood will join the Mumbai Indians for a sum of Rs 50 lakh.

In an official statement released by the IPL, it was stated, "Mumbai Indians (MI) name Luke Wood as replacement for the injured Jason Behrendorff for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024."

Luke Wood brings international experience to the Mumbai Indians, having represented England in five T20 Internationals (T20Is) and two One Day Internationals (ODIs). He has earned a reputation as a formidable bowler, boasting eight T20I wickets to his name.
