IPL: Dhoni's men make 7th win; Delhi's qualifier dreams get dented

Chennai: MS Dhoni's men picked their seventh victory of the season after beating the fragile Delhi Capitals here on Wednesday evening for 27 runs. Thus the yellow army easily made another step towards playoffs.

Pacer Matheesha Pathirana performed well for Chennai, taking three wickets, while Deepak Chahar contributed with two more.

Winning the toss, Dhoni elected to bat first. Sivam Dube topped for the yellow side during their batting with a 25, and later Dhoni played a cameo of 20 off 9, taking the total 167/8 in 20 overs.

For Delhi, Mitchell Marsh took three wickets and Axar Patel two. But Delhi's battle ended at 140/8 in 20 overs. Even opener cum skipper Warner couldn't make the contribution she usually does for Delhi.
