IPL 2022: 3 of Delhi Capitals crew get penalised for breach of Conduct
text_fieldsMumbai: After a final-over-no-ball-drama on Friday during the IPL-2022 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), DC captain Rishabh Pant, teammate Shardul Thakur and team assistant coach Pravin Amre were fined for breaching Code of Conduct, NDTV reported.
While Pant was fined a 100 per cent match fee for Level 2 offence under Article 2.7 of the IPL Code of Conduct and Thakur got a 50 per cent fine of match fee for Level 2 offence under Article 2.8, Amre was granted with 100 per cent fine of his match fee and one-match ban for Level 2 offence under Article 2.2 of IPL Code of Conduct. All the three admitted their violations and accepted the sanctions.
During the final over of the match, DC required 36 runs, and Rovaman Powell hit Obed McCoy for sixes in the first three balls. DC thought the third one was a no-ball, and skipper Pant behaved haywire. He signalled his batter to leave the field while coach Amre entered the field to talk with the umpires.
In the meantime, RR batter Jos Butter met Pant and had a seemingly aggressive chat.
However, RR won the match against DC by 15 runs.
