As anticipation builds for the upcoming match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four stage, India's vice-captain, Hardik Pandya, shared insights into his role as an all-rounder in the team and the importance of self-belief.

Speaking on Star Sports, Hardik Pandya highlighted the unique workload he carries as an all-rounder, emphasising that his responsibilities are "twice or thrice as anyone else."

He explained that while other team members might complete their batting and be heading home, he might still be bowling. Pandya stressed the importance of managing his workload effectively during training and pre-camp seasons to ensure he can meet the team's requirements during matches.

Pandya noted that during games, practical considerations take precedence, such as assessing how many overs are needed from him. He believes in giving himself a chance to succeed by reading the game and backing himself. He emphasised the need for self-belief, even when facing tough situations, because as a player, he often finds himself alone on the field, responsible for making the right decisions.

Regarding his bowling, Pandya stressed the importance of backing himself fully, especially since the opposition aims to capitalise on any mistakes he makes. He emphasised that self-belief, while not guaranteeing success, guides him toward working diligently and striving for success.

Hardik Pandya has not only been a key player in the Asia Cup but has also been appointed as Team India's vice-captain for the upcoming ODI World Cup, further underscoring his valuable role in the national squad.
