Chennai Super Kings gushes praise for Kohli, calling him King

Virat Kohli proved it again with a resounding score that he is in form.

Just before the Asia Cup was to start, misgivings about his form were raging.

Many doubted him hitting runs left and right reminiscent of his glorious days.

He came back with a 60 and then went on marching, now with a ton against Afghanistan.

That stunning act came after over 1000 days with the former Indian captain touching the triple figure mark—yes, his 71st international ton.

Though India were already out of the final contention, Kohli's score augurs well for the team looking ahead at the T20 World Cup.

Indian Premier league franchise Chennai Super Kings was gushing in praise for Kohli, after he hit 122* off 61 balls against Afghanistan.

"The King is back, they're saying. But he never left, did he? He charged head-first into battles, over and over again! He braved wars and scars fearlessly, turning away not once! Hurdles can't hold back a relentless warrior! Cricket hai abhi baaki! #WhistlePodu," Chennai Super Kings tweeted.

Kohli's maiden ton in the short format on Thursday hitting ton off 61 balls puts him in the clan of Ricky Ponting and only behind Sachin Tendulkar.
