Cricket: Following the announcement of retirement from T20Is by Indian batting legends Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli a day ago, superstar all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja announced his own retirement from the format on Sunday.

Kohli and Rohit announced their retirement on Saturday after India's thumping victory against dominating South Africa in a thrilling final match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. According to NDTV, Jadeja had a relatively lacklustre campaign at the tournament, with both ball and bat.

Jadeja took to Instagram to announce his retirement through a heartfelt post.

"With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I've always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats. Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 International career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support. Jai hind Ravindrasinh Jadeja," he wrote in the post on Instagram that accompanied a picture.

Jadeja is among the finest all-rounders in the world and is within the league where the likes of Yuvaraj Singh are. Jadeja was mighty with the bat, the ball, and on the field all through his career. He will continue playing ODIs and Tests.

In the final bash between India and South Africa at Barbados on Saturday, India beat South Africa by seven runs to win their second ICC Men's T20 World Cup title and the first ICC title in 11 years. The last title was ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.
