On the second last day of the ongoing Commonwealth Games, the Indian contingent had a brilliant outing as they added more gold medals to their kitty.

India is now among the top five countries in terms of the medal tally at the Commonwealth Games 2022.

Boxers Amit Panghal and Nitu Ganghas won the yellow metal in their respective final bouts while triple jumpers. Achanta Sharath Kamal and Sreeja Akula also won the gold medal in the table tennis mixed doubles category.

It was a successful day for boxing as well with world champions Nikhat Zareen, Amit Panghal, and Nitu Ghanghas all securing gold medals. Sagar Ahlawat collected silver.

Annu Rani and Sandeep Kumar bagged bronze medals for India in the women's javelin throw and men's 10km race walk, respectively.

The Indian women's hockey team also ended their 16-year-long wait for a CWG medal as they defeated New Zealand to win bronze. A historic moment was witnessed in the men's triple jump as India's Eldhose Paul and Abdullah Aboobacker clinched gold and silver respectively. Sandeep Kumar won bronze in Men's 10 km Race Walk, Annu Rani also won bronze in the women's javelin. The pair of Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal won the bronze medal in squash mixed doubles. Kidambi Srikanth won the bronze medal in badminton men's singles, and the young pair of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand won the bronze medal in women's doubles. The Indian women's cricket team also secured silver after going down against Australia A by nine runs in the finals.

The Indian 4*100m women's relay team however finished fifth in the final to miss out on a medal.

Rohit Yadav delivered his best throw of the Men's Javelin Throw on his final attempt as he registered a throw of 82.22m to place him sixth on the list. While, DP Manu only finished fifth in the standings with a best throw of 82.28m.

In the men's 4 x 400m Relay, India came sixth in a field of 8 teams with a time of 3:05.51.
