New Delhi: Women’s World Boxing saw on Monday India’s Sonia Chahal winning over Bulagarian Stanimira Petrova in 57 kg category.

She won not without kicking up a controversy. Dadri girl was trailing Bulgarian heading into the final round.

Sonia picked up a 3-2 win following the judges’ decision. Bulgarian coach Petar Lesov threw a bottle of water in anger near the ring.

Petrova, a 2016 Olympian pugilist, responded in broken English, “It's just corruption by the judges. It is not a fair result.”

Coach Lesov’s bottle smashing didn’t go well with International boxing body, AIBA. The body took immediate action against him removing his accreditation and therefore the right to be in the corner.
