Protests boom in US against Isaac Herzog and Donald Trump
text_fieldsNew York: New York City witnessed massive pro-Palestinian protests on Sunday against visiting Israeli President Isaac Herzog outside the hotel, The Plaza, where he is staying. The protesters chanted slogans calling Herzog a 'Genocide supporter', 'Baby killer', etc. They also shouted 'long live Yahya Sinwar' and raised placards that said 'death to Zionists'.
The cards also featured the red triangle used in footage of Hamas counterattacks targeting Israeli forces in Palestine. At the protest sites, This red triangle was found above Herzog's name.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog arrived in New York for the annual conference of the Jewish Federations of North America. Herzog will meet with US President Joe Biden on Tuesday. Despite heavy security, the protesters surrounded the hotel with loud slogans and placards, and they criticized those who attended Herzog's event at the Plaza Hotel.

Meanwhile, protests against the US President-elect Donald Trump are also intensifying in the US. From New York to Seattle, many people took to the streets yesterday to protest. The protest in Seattle was against genocide and war, while in New York, it was in front of the Trump International Hotel, demanding the protection of the rights of people, including immigrants. A women's protest also took place in Washington, demanding women’s rights.
There were similar protests in the US on Friday, calling for a fight to defeat fascism. The protest was near Portland's City Hall, where protesters called to turn fear into struggle.
Donald Trump will return to power as US President by winning 312 out of 538 Electoral College votes. Kamala Harris won 226 seats. The 78-year-old Trump also became the oldest person to win the presidency of the United States. He is also the second President of the United States to run for the presidency and win again after losing. He will be sworn in as President in January.
