For Israel, the entire world is an enemy
text_fieldsLike an elephant in musth, Israel is running amok, breaking all the rules of war and human values and wreaking havoc all over. Now it has even started attacking the United Nations and its peacekeepers. During the Gaza genocide, Israel raised false allegations against the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), an essential service agency there and even put pressure on major powers to withdraw financial aid to it forcing the agency to shut down its work. After spreading the war to Lebanon, Israeli forces opened fire at three locations on the peace-keeping troops of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The UN forces were asked to leave the area. Israeli military vehicles surrounded the UN base in a threatening manner. Their gunfire destroyed UN surveillance cameras there. Two people fell with injuries. Despite all these threats and provocations, the UN peacekeepers refused to leave. In many ways, Israel is putting the United Nations on the enemy side.
Despite major countries providing financial, military and diplomatic support for Israel's every move and thwarting peace efforts even at the UN Security Council, and the UN being largely helpless, some measures have been initiated, which upset Israel. The UN General Assembly passed a resolution calling for Israel to withdraw from the occupied Palestinian territories. The International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court have begun proceedings against Israel for war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. It is Israel’s arrogance that it is above all law that emboldens it. In Gaza, they killed many times health workers, journalists and UN voluntary workers, the number in any other zone of conflict. Reports are heard every day of shooting children on their chest and head. And bombs are dropped on mosques, churches, orphanages, hospitals and places with heavy populations including places of refuge.
Israel's lawlessness crosses all boundaries to the extent that even its closest friends now express disapproval. It is Britain, known for its Zionist servitude in every way, which has said that it will not oppose the issuing of arrest warrants against Israeli leaders in the case of genocide. Even France was forced to say that it would no longer supply Israel with arms, nor should anyone else. By warning it not to fire at the U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon, even the US is obliquely accusing Israel of war crimes. Many point to the state of affairs in which Israel is above all laws. And the one who accused Israel of turning Gaza into a graveyard of humanitarian laws and ideals is Josep Borrell, the European Union's diplomatic chief, who has been close to Israel so far.
Israel's march is one that defies all efforts by others to seek a cease-fire and peace. This is a situation where regional conflict could escalate into a world war. Israel has killed Hamas and Hezbollah leaders by making incursions into other sovereign countries. America opposes when Iran retaliates. Russia joins the other side and warns of the use of nuclear weapons. According to various estimates, Israel killed between 50,000 and 175,000 people in Gaza. And it extended the carnage to Lebanon. Currently, the West Bank, Iraq, Syria and Yemen are all beset with unrest. The pager killings, which Israel has not openly acknowledged, come on top of all this. All are cases of crimes against humanity in every way. Behind all this is a single rogue state. And the root cause of this situation is the three-quarters of a century-old occupation of Palestine. The latest victim is the United Nations, which is half-heartedly trying to hold back the country that has set out to make the whole world a battleground. The question before the world's nations is whether this country, which has made the world and the rule of law an enemy, can still be on the loose.
