Ahmedabad: Dhaval Patel, a local journalist running an online port, was arrested for publishing a speculative story on change of guard in the state.
The story carried by portal Face of Nation said that BJP high command had summoned union minister Mansukh Mandavia.
The portal also said that he was likely to replace Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani following the rising COVID-19 cases in the state.
The story attracted attention from local media prompting Mandavia to clarify that Gujarat CM was not replaced.
The journalist was arrested for creating instability and atmosphere of fear in the state.
