New Delhi: CPI-M leader and Rajya Sabha member K.K. Ragesh on Friday sought better treatment of Kendriya Vidyalayas teachers in terms of pay and urged the government to take up the issue on serious note and bring uniformity.

Most of the opposition party leaders supported the issue raised by Ragesh in the Upper House.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, the CMP (M) leader said that Kendriya Vidyalayas are the prestigious educational institutions in country as they impart quality education and it is possible because of the trained teachers of the schools.

Then he pointed, "Unfortunately, the teachers of the Kendriya Vidyalayas are not being treated as that of the government employees and also as that of the teachers and staff in other educational organisations which come under various government departments."

He said that all organisations have already implemented the Seventh Central Pay Commission, but, unfortunately, some of the recommendations of the pay commission have not been implemented in the Kendriya Vidyalayas and the teachers are yet to get 25 percentage of their arrears.

He also pointed that all government employees are eligible get Central Government Health Scheme benefits. But unfortunately, Kendriya Vidyalayas are being denied to such benefits.
