Lockdown to extend till April 28
text_fieldsNew Delhi: The central and state governments have agreed to extend the lockdown for another two weeks. The consensus was made during a video conference held between the prime minister and the chief ministers of states. The decision to postpone was taken after considering the reports of the Union Health Ministry and ICMR.
It is learnt that most of the states requested the central government to extend the lockdown which was scheduled to end on Monday. The central government accepted the plea.
Meanwhile, it is reported that certain sectors will be exempted from restriction.
Clarity on the exempted sectors will be known after yet to be issued government notification regarding postponement of the lockdown.
Of late, 7600 people have tested Covid 19 positive in the country. 249 people died due to the disease. 774 had recovered after undergoing treatment.
