The All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) released the medical bulletin on Tuesday on the health of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee stating that his condition is stable.

The 93-year-old veteran politician is unlikely to be discharged today, the bulletin added.

The former prime minister was admitted to the premier institution on Monday and was diagnosed with urinary tract infection. He is being treated by the AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria.

Vajpayee has been out of public life after he suffered a stroke in 2009. Since then the 93-year-old veteran politician has been confined to his house at the Krishna Menon Marg.

A host of leaders visited Vajpayee to enquire about his condition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited the former prime minister Monday night and spent nearly 50 minutes at the hospital.

MDMK Chief Vaiko also visited the hospital on Tuesday.

BJP workers conducted havan in Kanpur to pray for his speedy recovery.

Rahul Gandhi also visited the hospital to meet the ailing former prime minister.
