"Work Bundle" simplifies private sector work processes in UAE
text_fieldsDubai: To streamline employee residency procedures and work permits in private sector companies, the UAE government has launched a "Work Bundle" This initiative, introduced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai, signifies a major leap towards achieving a "Zero Bureaucracy" environment.
“In our ongoing quest for government excellence, we have recently introduced the ‘Zero Bureaucracy’ initiative, aimed at streamlining procedures and enhancing efficiency within the federal government...In alignment with this vision, today marks the inaugural launch of the ‘Employment Package’, a pioneering project designed to expedite, simplify and streamline the processes related to residency and employment”, said Sheikh Muhammed.
The "Employment Package" is set to revolutionize the landscape, reclaiming 62 million working days and curtailing 25 million procedures annually. Serving the business community, the "Work Bundle" offers a unified platform for private sector companies, simplifying procedures such as renewal, cancellation, medical examination and fingerprinting. This single platform results from close cooperation between federal and local government entities, enhancing transaction completion through digital platforms.
Digital Dubai supports the project and plays a crucial role by providing the digital infrastructure for seamless data exchange between entities. This collaboration supports the UAE's digital transformation efforts, aiming to enhance competitiveness in global indicators related to the ease of establishing and managing businesses.
The "Work Bundle" significantly improves the customer experience, reducing services from 8 to a unified platform, steps from 15 to 5 and required documents from 16 to 5. It reduces visits from 7 to 2, reflecting transaction completion time from 30 working days to just 5. It integrates all procedures for government entities — such as the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and the Department of Economy and Tourism, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).
This initiative is a milestone in UAE's digital transformation, reducing 25 million procedures, 12.5 million annual visits and 62.5 million working days annually. It is planned to be available on various government digital platforms, further enhancing accessibility.
For companies recruiting from abroad, the process involves filling out a unified application, issuing a work permit and completing residence procedures, including mandatory medical examinations and Emirates ID card issuance. Renewal services are simplified, requiring a unified application, medical examination and Emirates ID card issuance.
The "Work Bundle" will be provided as a first phase on the “Invest in Dubai” platform, and it will be available on several other government digital platforms and on https://workinuae.ae/.
