UAE streamlines work permit cancellation process to 45 seconds

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) announced the reduction of the work permit cancellation process time to just 45 seconds. This is a substantial improvement from the previous duration of three minutes and requires no documentation, thanks to the upgraded Work Bundle platform.

The streamlined process was unveiled on July 8 as part of the second phase of the Work Bundle platform. This initiative aims to provide customers with a hassle-free experience by integrating all types of cancellations into a single, unified bundle.

Key improvements include:

- Eliminating document requests entirely

- Enabling automatic approval

- Reducing the number of required fields from seven to just two

- Shortening the processing time from three minutes to 45 seconds

Several government ministries and federal authorities collaborated on this platform to simplify hiring new employees for business owners and private companies. This also facilitates the pre-renewal of work permits for existing employees. The first phase of the Work Bundle was launched in Dubai in March and has now been expanded to all seven emirates.

The second phase of the platform will benefit approximately 600,000 companies and over seven million workers across the UAE. This follows a previous initiative that reduced the time to process documents for obtaining work permits and residency visas from 30 days to five days nationwide.
