The UAE has set a new world record with its Liwa marker, now recognized as the world's tallest landmark sign.

The Abu Dhabi Media Office announced the achievement on Wednesday, highlighting that the Liwa marker has surpassed Dubai's Hatta mountain marker.

The Liwa marker, located in the Al Dhafra region, stands 23.5 meters tall and is built 197 meters above sea level. The metal installation weighs 49 tonnes.

The Hatta sign atop the Hajar mountains stands at 19.28 meters tall and the US banner is 13.7 meters tall.

This new record is part of Al Dhafra Region Municipality’s initiatives to enhance the region's appeal as a leading culture and tourism destination in Abu Dhabi.
