UAE schools receive 65,000 books from Abu Dhabi book fair
text_fieldsPresident Sheikh Muhammed directs the initiative of distributing 65,000 books to 220 schools across the UAE from the 33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair. This initiative was facilitated by a financial grant to enrich school libraries and foster a culture of reading among students.
The books, sourced from 77 publishing houses that participated in the book fair, are intended to enhance educational resources and expand students’ knowledge.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
"The Arabic language, with its diverse and rich literary heritage, is more than just a means of communication. Our language is a powerful and inclusive tool for innovative and critical thinking, enabling us to unite in our thoughts and words”, said Al Mubarak.
“This vital and generous grant from President Sheikh Mohamed will encourage reading and the protection of our language, help us foster deeper understanding, and bridge the many cultures and people who speak it, ensuring that our collective wisdom continues to guide future generations”, he added.
Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), also highlighted the continuous support of President Sheikh Mohamed.

We appreciate this significant support from the President, who always inspires us to persevere in our efforts to keep the local and Arab publishing markets competitive and position the book fair as a platform for promoting knowledge", said Dr. Tamim
The initiative supports the cultural and intellectual growth of UAE's youth and strengthens the local and Arab publishing sectors, ensuring the continued relevance and esteem of books in the region.
