The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) has announced the Eid Al Adha holiday dates for the private sector. The holiday will run from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18, 2024.

Employees will receive a paid holiday on June 15 for Arafah Day, the holiest day in Islam, which falls on Dhul Hijjah 9 in the Hijri calendar. The following three days, June 16 to 18, will be observed as Eid Al Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice.

Public sector employees will have the same holiday schedule.

The crescent Moon of Dhul Hijjah 1445 was photographed from Abu Dhabi on Friday, June 7, marking the start of the Islamic month. Saudi Arabia also confirmed the sighting on June 7, with Eid Al Adha beginning there on June 16.

In contrast, countries like Oman, India and Pakistan will commence their Eid celebrations on June 17 based on their Moon observations.
