UAE President calls Emir of Qatar, voices support after Iran strike

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on Tuesday, expressing the UAE’s solidarity and full support for Qatar following the recent Iranian missile strike targeting the U.S. bases at Al Udeid.

During the call, Sheikh Mohamed conveyed concern over the situation in Qatar and the wellbeing of its citizens, while reaffirming the UAE’s condemnation of the attack. He also expressed support for all actions taken by Qatar to protect its sovereignty and ensure national security.

The two leaders also discussed the newly announced ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the development and voiced hope that it would serve as a step toward broader peace and stability in the region. He acknowledged the efforts of Sheikh Tamim in facilitating the ceasefire and emphasised the importance of ongoing cooperation to ensure its implementation.

In response, Sheikh Tamim thanked the UAE President for his call and expressed appreciation for the UAE’s supportive stance and expressions of solidarity with Qatar.
