Dubai: A red alert is issued across the UAE by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Tuesday as weather conditions take a turn for the worse across the country. Residents are urged to remain extremely vigilant as hazardous weather events of exceptional severity are forecast.

The NCM has highlighted specific areas most prone to severe weather, with orange alert areas indicating heightened caution and yellow alert areas facing comparatively milder conditions. Residents across the UAE awoke to the relentless rumble of thunder and flashes of lightning as heavy rainfall battered the country late Monday night into Tuesday.

According to the NCM, unstable weather conditions are expected to persist from Monday through Wednesday, attributed to an extension of a "low surface pressure" and two waves of unstable weather moving across the country on Tuesday. The government employees in the UAE have been directed to work from home on Wednesday, as announced by authorities.

Further, Dubai has extended the remote working period for both government employees and private school students in light of the escalating unstable weather conditions. Private sector companies have also been advised to facilitate remote working arrangements for their employees.

In Sharjah, federal employees have been instructed to work from home on Wednesday to ensure their safety. Additionally, public and private schools in both emirates will be conducting online classes on Wednesday to minimize disruptions caused by the adverse weather conditions.
