UAE denounces Israeli attack on Rafah refugee centre
text_fieldsThe UAE has strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip, including the recent targeting of tents for displaced persons, which resulted in the death and injury of dozens of civilians.
On Monday, an Israeli airstrike triggered a massive blaze killing 45 people in a tent camp in the Gaza city of Rafah, prompting an outcry from global leaders who urged the implementation of a World Court ruling to halt Israel's assault.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire to protect civilians and prevent further casualties. The Ministry highlighted the importance of adhering to the International Court of Justice's measures for an immediate ceasefire in Rafah.
The UAE also called for continuous international efforts to halt the escalation across the occupied Palestinian territories and address the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The Ministry highlighted the necessity of keeping the Rafah crossing open for large-scale humanitarian aid and ensuring the timely delivery of relief supplies.
In a similar statement, Saudi Arabia condemned the Israeli actions, rejecting the continuous violations of international and humanitarian laws by Israeli occupation forces.
The Kingdom echoed the call for international intervention to stop the aggression and alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
