The UAE has approved a Dh292.5 billion federal budget for 2027–2029, with education, healthcare, housing and social services remaining government priorities.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the approval on Monday. The three-year spending plan represents a 28.3 per cent increase over the preceding budget cycle.

The Cabinet also approved Dh90.1 billion in federal expenditure for 2027.

Sheikh Mohammed said the government’s priorities remained unchanged, including improving citizens’ quality of life and ensuring their stability.

Social development and pensions will receive the largest allocation in 2027, at Dh34.6 billion, or 38.4 per cent of spending.

The remaining allocations are:

  • Government affairs: Dh29.1 billion, or 32.3 per cent.
  • Federal expenses: Dh17.8 billion, or 19.7 per cent.
  • Financial assets and investments: Dh5.6 billion, or 6.2 per cent.
  • Infrastructure and economic resources: Dh3 billion, or 3.4 per cent.

Separately, Sheikh Mohammed approved Dubai’s largest budget cycle last year for 2026–2028. That emirate-level plan provides for Dh302.7 billion in expenditure and Dh329.2 billion in revenue, with a projected operating surplus equivalent to 5 per cent of Dubai’s expected 2026 gross domestic product.
