UAE airlines update: Emirates, Etihad and flydubai resume limited flights from March 2
cancel

Flights in the UAE began partially resuming on Monday evening as major national carriers restarted limited operations following days of regional airspace disruptions.

Emirates, Etihad Airways and flydubai confirmed the gradual return of selected services from the evening of March 2, after suspensions linked to escalating security developments in the region.

The disruption follows three days of heightened tensions after a joint US-Israeli strike on Iran and subsequent retaliatory actions against several Gulf states, including the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Airspace restrictions have extended across multiple countries. As of Monday, Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the UAE had announced full or partial closures of their skies.

The closures triggered widespread flight cancellations, diversions and delays, stranding tens of thousands of passengers globally as airlines adjusted routes and schedules in response to the evolving situation.
