The UAE’s Ministry of Defense has announced the tragic loss of four members of its armed forces in a duty-related accident that occurred on the evening of Tuesday, September 24. The Ministry confirmed that nine others were injured during the incident and were immediately transported to the hospital, where they are receiving necessary medical care. The nature of the accident has not yet been disclosed.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Defense expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the soldiers, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, whom the Ministry referred to as martyrs. The Ministry also conveyed its wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured personnel, affirming that they are under proper medical supervision.

This is not the first time this year that the UAE Armed Forces have suffered losses. In February, four members of the UAE Armed Forces and one Bahraini officer were killed in a terrorist attack while on a mission in Somalia. The soldiers, Colonel Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary 1 Mohammed Al Shamsi, Undersecretary 1 Khalifa Al Balushi and Corporal Suleiman Al Shehhi, were performing their duties to train and qualify Somali Armed Forces when the attack took place.

The UAE continues to mourn the loss of its brave servicemen and honors their dedication to their duty. No further details about the latest accident have been released, and investigations into the incident are likely ongoing.
