Sheikh Mohamed praises progress in UAE-Oman relations during Sultan Haitham's visit

President Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the importance of the visit in fostering a stable and prosperous future for both countries. He welcomed Sultan Haitham's delegation, highlighting the deep-rooted and long-standing ties that unite the UAE and Oman. The strategic partnership between the two nations continues to strengthen, with ongoing efforts to explore new collaboration opportunities.
“I had the pleasure of welcoming my brother Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to the UAE today and discussing with him the deep and long-standing bonds that unite our two nations,” Sheikh Mohamed wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
An ambitious $3 billion railway project connecting the UAE and Oman was announced last year, with trains set to link Abu Dhabi with Sohar, north of Muscat. The project, overseen by Oman and the Etihad Rail Company, signifies the commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and economic integration.
The official reception hosted by President Sheikh Mohamed in Abu Dhabi marked the visit of Sultan Haitham, characterized by traditional ceremonies and military honours. The leaders discussed the historical and fraternal relations between their countries, affirming their commitment to deepening cooperation across various fields.
The reception at Qasr Al Watan showcased the rich cultural heritage of the UAE, with Arabian horses, camels and Emirati folk groups welcoming Sultan Haitham. A guard of honour, renditions of national anthems and a fly-past by the UAE's Al Fursan aerobatics team added to the grandeur of the event, symbolizing the strong bond between the UAE and Oman.
