Sharjah: The Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs has unveiled a monumental effort this Ramadan, orchestrating 700 Quran memorisation sessions across the emirate's mosques. These sessions have drawn in an impressive cohort of 29,000 learners from diverse age groups.

Driven by a fervent dedication to the Quran, participants are deeply engaged in memorising and studying the Quran while also honing their mastery of Tajweed rules. Collaborating with the Sharjah Quran and Sunnah Foundation and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, the department ensures top-tier instruction quality.

In addition to the memorisation sessions, 20 mosques across Sharjah have been earmarked for Quran recitation correction sessions. This provides attendees with opportunities to refine their pronunciation and recitation techniques.

Moreover, ten mosques have been allocated for Quranic interpretation sessions. Led by adept imams well-versed in Quranic sciences, these sessions elucidate the meaning of verses, explaining their nuances, rulings and divine directives.

Expanding their reach, the department conducts "Electronic Quran Reading" sessions via Zoom, delivering virtual lessons on recitation correction to the public.

The department's ambition knows no bounds as it endeavours to broaden these sessions to other regions of the emirate. Mosque imams affiliated with the department are entrusted with conducting memorisation sessions catering to all segments of society, thus enhancing the accessibility of Quranic education.
