Sharjah honoured 17 outstanding companies and individuals at the Sharjah Excellence Award 2024, held at Expo Centre Sharjah under the patronage of the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, attended the ceremony and presented the awards.

Organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the awards recognised excellence in several categories. Major winners of the Sharjah Gulf Excellence Award included Saudi Electricity Company, Agility Global and Qatar Islamic Bank. Fair Value from Saudi Arabia received the Sharjah Gulf Localisation Award.

Among small and medium enterprises, Montessori Children's Garden Nursery and Gracia Group were acknowledged for their achievements. The Sharjah Entrepreneurship Award went to Dr. Sunny Kurian and Hamad Ali Sulaiman Al Shamsi, while Hamid Hassan Al Mazmi received recognition for contributions from individuals with disabilities.

The Sharjah Social Responsibility Award honoured the University of Sharjah, Sharjah Housing Department and Sharjah Airport. Emirates Refining Company received the award for best security-compliant facility.

Gulf Madhyamam, the first international Indian daily newspaper in the region, was also honoured at the event.

In his address, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber, credited the vision of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for driving the emirate’s focus on quality and economic sustainability. He noted a 34 per cent rise in participation, with over 132 submissions this year, reflecting a growing commitment to excellence.

Al Owais reiterated the award’s role in encouraging innovation, improving business performance and strengthening the UAE’s position as a hub for investment and quality-led growth.
